About  Zaisan Memorial

The Zaisan memorial rests in the foothills to the south of Ulaanbaatar. It was developed by Russians as a monument to Soviet soldiers who died in World War Two. A tiled painting lies within a huge solid ring, which is raised about 5 meters above the ground. Zaisan is a famous tourist fascination and one of the highlights of Ulan Bator due to the phenomenal views it offers over the city. The Zaisan Memorial highlights an exciting socialist realism representation with Soviet collections and welfares, including that of Stalin and Lenin. It is accessible via steep stairs. The gigantic tank at the bottom of the hill, also a component of the Mongolia People's Tank Brigade saw combat against the Nazis during WWII.
